Booking & payment

Online booking, quotes, lead times, cancellation: everything you need to secure your date. For personal advice, use the request page ; all prices are listed on the prices page.

How do I book a sound system with Soundcall?

You book online at soundcall.fr in about 3 minutes: choose your equipment and your dates, pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay (secure payment through Stripe), and your booking is confirmed straight away. The official rental agreement is signed electronically. You can also call +33 6 23 65 17 78, 7 days a week from 9 am to 10 pm, for advice before you book.

What documents do I need to hire sound equipment?

An ID document (national ID card or passport, front and back) is all you need. The rental agreement is signed electronically online, and payment is made online by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, secured by Stripe. Your online payment is what confirms the booking and reserves the equipment in your name for your date.

How long does it take to get a quote?

Less than an hour on average, 7 days a week. Tell us about your event (date, number of guests, venue) through the request page or by phone on +33 6 23 65 17 78, and you will receive a tailored, fully priced proposal. Quotes are free with no obligation.

Can I hire a sound system on the day for the same evening?

Yes, subject to availability. Soundcall answers 7 days a week from 9 am to 10 pm: a call to +33 6 23 65 17 78 confirms availability, you then pay online by card and sign the electronic agreement, and pickup in Saint-Cloud (92210) takes place the same day. The most popular last-minute hires are the Soundboks speakers (from €39 for 24 h) and smoke machines (€25 for 24 h).

How far in advance should I book?

For a wedding, book 2 to 6 months ahead, especially from June to September (high season). For a corporate party, 1 to 3 weeks is enough. For a birthday or private party, 48 to 72 hours is usually fine, or even the same day depending on availability. High season Saturdays go quickly: booking early means the lowest price is still available.

Can I cancel or change a booking?

Cancellation is free up to 48 hours before pickup. If you cancel the day before, 50% of the amount is refunded; cancellations on the day itself are not refunded. To change a date or an item, call +33 6 23 65 17 78: changes depend on the equipment being available on the new dates.

Card hold

No cheques, no cash: a card hold is requested. The contractual details are set out in the terms and conditions of hire.

How does the card hold work?

The card hold is a pre-authorisation: the amount is temporarily blocked on your card, with no money taken upfront. It is requested before the equipment is handed over, through a secure link emailed 2 days before pickup (or as the last step of your booking if pickup is within the next 3 days). It is released once the equipment comes back in good condition.

Is a card hold needed to hire a sound system?

Yes, a card hold (pre-authorisation) is requested on your card for every hire: no cheques and no cash. The amount depends on the value of the equipment hired and is shown in your booking summary before payment. The hold is released once the equipment comes back in good condition. As an option, the Damage & Theft Cover (from €7.90 for 24 h, 10% excess) reduces what you pay if something goes wrong.

Do I need to leave a cheque?

No. Soundcall only works with a card hold (pre-authorisation): no cheque or cash is ever requested. It is the safest option for you: no cheque that could be cashed going around, no money to tie up, and a hold released once the equipment comes back in good condition.

When is the card hold released?

The card hold is released when the equipment comes back in good condition, as checked together at the return inspection. When the funds actually become available again on your account then depends on your bank: usually 2 to 7 days. If you have a question about timing, call +33 6 23 65 17 78.

What happens if something gets broken or damaged?

In the event of damage, loss or failure to return the equipment, only the assessed cost is taken from the card hold, in part or in full depending on the damage. Everything is governed by the rental agreement signed electronically, and the equipment is checked and tested with you at pickup and at return: this inspection protects both sides.

Pickup & transport

Free pickup in Saint-Cloud (92), or an external courier booked and paid by you. For a specific need, send a quote request or use the contact page.

Where do I collect the equipment?

At the Soundcall depot in Saint-Cloud (92), right on the edge of Paris. Pickup is free and by appointment, Monday to Saturday (closed on Sundays). The depot is at 18 rue des Tennerolles, 92210 Saint-Cloud, pickup by appointment only. When you arrive, for pickup and for return alike, please call +33 6 23 65 17 78: we will come and let you in.

Can the equipment be brought to me in Paris or Île-de-France?

Yes, by courier booked and paid by the customer. Pickup is free at the Saint-Cloud depot (92210), about ten minutes from Porte d'Auteuil, by appointment Monday to Saturday. If you cannot come yourself, you book a courier (Uber, Bolt or an independent courier) who carries the equipment anywhere in Paris and Île-de-France, at your own cost.

Do you bring equipment to customers at the weekend?

No, Soundcall does not transport equipment itself. You have two options: free pickup at the Saint-Cloud depot (92), Monday to Saturday by appointment, or an external courier (courier service, Uber or Bolt) booked and paid by you.

Will the equipment fit in a car?

In the vast majority of cases, yes. A Soundboks 4 (17.2 kg) fits on a back seat or in the boot of a small city car, a pair of RCF speakers with stands fits in a saloon boot, and the EVOX J9 and J11 column speakers, taken apart, fit in an estate car. Only the very large packs with subwoofers need an estate or a small van.

Do you set up the equipment on site?

No. Soundcall does not transport or set up equipment on site: free pickup at the Saint-Cloud depot by appointment, or a courier booked and paid by you. The equipment leaves set up and ready to plug in, we show you how to connect it at pickup, and every hire comes with an online connection guide.

Choosing your equipment

Power, number of guests, type of event: the benchmarks for choosing the right size. To compare, browse all the equipment and the complete packs.

What size of sound system for how many people?

The rule of thumb: 8 to 10 watts RMS per person indoors, 15 to 20 watts outdoors. In practice: a Soundboks Mix (€39 for 24 h) covers up to 40 people, a Soundboks 4 (€49 for 24 h) 50 to 70 people, the Pack Soundboks x2 (€89 for 24 h) around 100 people, and the packs built on RCF speakers take over from 150 to 350 people.

Which sound system should I hire for a wedding?

For 80 to 100 guests, the Pack Deejay Essentiel (€149 for 24 h) pairs a Pioneer DJ controller with 2 Soundboks 4. For 150 to 200 people, the Pack Deejay Performance (€189 for 24 h) with 2 RCF ART 932-A speakers gives you club quality sound. For large weddings of up to 300 people, the Pack Deejay Club AZ (€289 for 24 h) adds 2 subwoofers. Every pack comes with its cables and a connection guide; stands and DJ headphones are included only when the pack page lists them in its contents.

Soundboks 4 or Soundboks Mix: which one should I choose?

The Soundboks Mix (€39 for 24 h) puts out 121 dB and weighs 9.7 kg: ideal for up to 40 people and for events on the move. The Soundboks 4 (€49 for 24 h) goes up to 126 dB, weighs 17.2 kg and covers 50 to 70 people indoors. Both run for up to 40 hours on battery, connect over Bluetooth and are weatherproof (IP65). Beyond 70 guests, move up to the Pack Soundboks x2 (€89 for 24 h).

Do I need to know how to DJ to hire a DJ controller?

No. The Pioneer all-in-one DJ systems (XDJ-XZ, XDJ-RX3, XDJ-AZ) are standalone: they play music straight from a USB stick, with no computer and no DJ skills needed. Setting up takes less than 5 minutes, the speakers connect with a single XLR cable (supplied), and a quick start guide is included. We show you how to connect everything at pickup.

How much does a complete DJ pack cost?

Complete DJ packs (Pioneer DJ controller, speakers and cables) range from €89 for 24 h for the Pack DJ Little AN to €289 for 24 h for the Pack Deejay Club AZ, a club set-up with subwoofers for 250 to 300 people. In between: Pack Deejay Mix at €129, Pack Deejay Essentiel at €149, Pack Deejay Performance at €189 and Pack Deejay Premium at €199. Everything is supplied and tested together: cables, stands, DJ headphones and a connection guide.

Can the equipment be used outdoors?

Yes. The Soundboks 4 and Mix are IP65 rated (rain and dust resistant) and run for up to 40 hours on battery: no socket needed for a garden, a rooftop or a garden party. The more powerful RCF speakers are mains-powered only. Outdoors, allow roughly twice the power: without walls, the sound disperses.

Can I add lighting or a smoke machine?

Yes, with any hire. Lighting starts at €10 for 24 h (ADJ Tripar LED light) and the Pack 4x ADJ Tripar at €39 brings together 4 LED lights on stands. The Stairville AF-250 smoke machine (€25 for 24 h) comes with a full fluid tank and a remote control with timer; a 1 litre refill costs €6. Watch out for the venue's smoke detectors.

On the day

Connections, settings, the unexpected: everything is planned so it works first time. Every product and pack comes with a detailed online user guide, provided with the hire.

How do I connect my phone to the sound system?

Soundboks speakers pair over Bluetooth in under 10 seconds; for a wired connection they take 3.5 mm jack, 6.35 mm jack and XLR. RCF speakers connect with a mini-jack to XLR cable, supplied. The Pioneer DJ systems play USB sticks with no computer. Then start Spotify, Deezer or your playlist: that's it.

Are cables and accessories included?

Yes, at no extra charge. Every hire comes with all the cables you need, charged batteries for the Soundboks (2 per speaker) and speaker stands on the packs that include them. The prices shown are the prices you pay: all inclusive, no VAT added (VAT not applicable, article 293 B of the French Tax Code), no hidden fees. The only optional cost is transport, handled by an outside provider (courier, Uber or Bolt) that you book and pay for yourself.

How long does setting up take?

A few minutes for most of the range: a Soundboks switches on and pairs over Bluetooth in 10 seconds, a Pioneer DJ system is set up in under 5 minutes, and a DJ pack leaves with its settings done and its connection guide. For the largest set-ups, allow 1 to 2 hours depending on the venue.

What if something goes wrong during the party?

Call +33 6 23 65 17 78: Soundcall answers 7 days a week from 9 am to 10 pm. Every hire also comes with an online user guide covering connections, settings and step by step troubleshooting. As the equipment is tested, cleaned and set up before each hire, problems are rare.

Weekends & hire periods

Reduced 48 h rate, extensions, longer hires: how to pay less for longer.

How does the 48 h weekend rate work?

The 48 h rate covers the whole weekend at a reduced price: a Soundboks 4 costs €89 for 48 hours against €49 for one day, so the full weekend costs less than two separate days. You collect the equipment on Friday and return it on Monday; a Saturday pickup with a Monday return is billed as 24 h, since the depot is closed on Sundays. The 48 h rate is offered on every product and pack page.

Can I extend a hire that has already started?

Yes, if the equipment is available on the following dates: just call or text +33 6 23 65 17 78 before your hire ends. The extension is confirmed once the extra amount is paid by card, through a link sent by email, at the current daily rate. Without an extension, the equipment is returned before 1 pm (on Saturdays between 10 am and 11 am) unless another time has been agreed, and article 2 of the agreement applies from the deadline: up to 15 minutes late: no penalty. From 15 minutes to 1 hour: a flat fee of €20. From 1 hour to 3 hours: half a day's hire, with a minimum of €40. Beyond 3 hours, or return on another day: one full day's hire for each day of delay started. If the delay prevents us from serving the next customer: in addition, the amount refunded or paid in compensation to that customer, with proof.

Can I hire for several days or a week?

Yes. Product pages show the 24 h and 48 h prices; beyond 48 hours (3 days, a week, an event over several dates), the hire is priced on quote, on +33 6 23 65 17 78 or through the request page. You get an answer in under an hour, 7 days a week from 9 am to 10 pm.
